The MiL’s Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of microbiological research. This program enables students to work on projects under the direction of The MiL’s professional staff and is tailored to bring the maximum educational benefit to each student. Projects include food microbiology and food safety, environmental microbiology, bioremediation, and bacteriology, just to name a few.
As an additional educational benefit, The MiL hosts an ongoing seminar series that is designed to bring in noted outside speakers on a variety of microbiological topics which our interns can attend and participate. These seminars, held twice yearly in the spring and fall seasons, offer networking opportunities as well as insight to the areas of professional microbiology and related field.
